Garuda to Add 2,495 Additional Seats to Anticipate Holiday

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Garuda Indonesia airline has prepared at least 2,495 additional seats to anticipate market demand during peak season of Christmas 2019 and New Year 2020.

Garuda Indonesia's Commerce Director Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah said that the additional seats was carried out both through the operation of wide-body aircrafts and the addition of flight schedules.

Pikri predicted a surge in passengers will take place from 20 December 2019 to 6 January 2020.

The service and operational improvement such as ensuring the readiness of HR, fleets, infrastructure, ground services and other aspects out are carried thoroughly.

"We also intensively coordinate with all airport service stakeholders to ensure smooth operations during 2019 Christmas peak season and 2020 New Year," Pikri said, Tuesday (26/11).

He added, Garuda Indonesia had also prepared a 24-hour operational post to support the smooth operation of Garuda Indonesia's flight services during the New Year peak season period.

Garuda Indonesia will continue to monitor market demand and adjust the additional flight capacity to meet said demand.

"We advise Garuda Indonesia passengers to use 'City Check-in' facilities at Garuda Indonesia sales offices or 'Web Check-in' facilities, to avoid long lines at airport check-in counters. In addition, passengers need to leave earlier in order to avoid traffic or missing a flight, "he said.

Previously, Garuda Indonesia had also implemented additional capacity in various major domestic destinations such as Denpasar, Surabaya, Manado, Makassar and other destinations.

The additional capacity is carried out by deploying wide-body aircrafts in several routes to these cities to maximize the number of passengers that can be loaded.
