Jakarta, InfoPublik – Home Ministry encouraged the implementation of Smart City in 100 regencies and municipalities with four strategies.
"The first strategy is the development of information system implementation in regional government administration," said Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, in his written statement, after the opening session of Towards 100 Smart Cities 2019 Movement event in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/15).
The second strategy is the formulation of Regional Regulations on Regional Development Plan. It must be preceded by the formulation of Strategic Environmental Assessment (KLHS) document as a part of the regional development plan.
Tjahjo continued that the third strategy is conducting a comprehensive analysis on the formulation process of the regional development plan document. The analysis is conducted based on updated and accountable data and information as mandated by Home Minister Regulation Number 86 of 2017.
The fourth strategy is encouraging the regency/municipality governments to accelerate the completion of Regional Regulations on Detailed Spatial Planning (RDTR) in order to support the development of spatial-based Smart City.
"Currently, there are 51 regional regulations on RDTR that have been formulated and stipulated by the regency/municipality governments. In total, there are 1,838 regional regulations on RTDR that must be stipulated nationally," said Tjahjo.
The Minister appealed to the regional heads to immediately adopt measures to encourage the development of smart city. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
