Jakarta, InfoPublik - The number of foreign tourist arrival in Indonesia increased by 6.12 percent in February 2019 compared to the number of arrivals in February 2018, namely from 1.20 million visits to 1.27 million arrivals.
On Monday (1/4), Suhariyanto, Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) said that compared to January 2019, the number of foreign tourist arrivals have increased by 4.80 percent in February 2019.
“The number of foreign tourists by point of entry were recorded at 731.4 thousand arrivals (58 percent) by air, 355 thousand arrivals (28 percent) by water, and 184.4 thousand arrivals (14 percent) by land,” said Suhariyanto.
Meanwhile, the top three foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia by country of origin in February 2019 were held by Malaysia at number one with 275,288 (21.66 percent), followed by China with 200,949 (15.81 percent), and Singapore with 147,948 (11.64 percent).
Cumulatively (January-February 2019), the number of foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia reached 2.48 million or rose by 8.19 percent compared to the number of foreign tourist arrivals on the same period in 2017 that was at 2.30 million arrivals.
