Jember, InfoPublik - Indonesian government continues to seek foreign exchange earnings from applications on smartphones. People can build these applications anytime and anywhere, and later upload them to be used by the public.

"The government continues to strive for foreign exchange earnings from mobile applications. However, this idea currently remains under discussion," said Siti Meiningsih, MCIT’s Director of Media Management,  Monday (25/3).

According to her, exports of goods and services are not the only potential sources of foreign exchange earnings for this country. Mobile application can also be a source that can be further developed to bring income, since mobile applications can be used to facilitate buying and selling process, among other things.

Previously, one of participants of public discussion  questioned the number of smartphone users in Indonesia that exceeds the number of Indonesia’s population. "What can the government do to boost foreign exchange earnings from mobile application," asked Harto, a participant from Suber Rejo Village, East Java.
