Demak, InfoPublik – The Coordinating Economic Ministry’s Deputy for Macroeconomic and Finance Coordination Iskandar Simorangkir said that micro credit program (KUR) disbursement has reached Rp356.5 trillion with 14.7 million debtors between August 2015 and February 2019.

“This figure is inseparable from KUR interest subsidy carried out since August 2015 as well as the President Joko Widodo’s direction to lower credit interest rate to a single digit level at 7% in 2018,” said Iskandar in an event of KUR disbursement for Fisheries, at Morodemak Port of Demak Regency, Central Java Province, on Sunday (24/03).

In addition, the government also considered the principle of prudence in KUR disbursement in order to maintain quality credit growth that can be inferred from the exceptionally low Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio, namely at the range of 1.4% for the same period.

The government had set the disbursement target at Rp139.01 trillion for 2019. The realization of KUR disbursement in the period of 1 January to 28 February 2019 was at Rp23.1 trillion and it was disbursed to 841 thousand debtors or around 17% from the total target.
