Nusa Dua, InfoPublik – At around 10 am, invited guests and participants of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) started to fill the seats at Nusa Dua 1, 2, 3 rooms at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center where an interesting discussion took place. Friends of Creative Economy (FCE) was officially opened by Director General for Multilateral Cooperation of Foreign Affairs Minister Febrian A. Ruddyard. Also attended the event was Deputy Chairman of Creative Economy Agency Ricky J. Pesik who delivered a Keynote Address.

In his speech, Ricky J. Pesik stated that creative economy has the power to bring positive change in the society. “The power of creative economy lies on its inclusiveness. It knows no borders, no gender, no age, no capital or education barrier. It lies solely on the creativity of the human mind and its ability to invent new ideas. Creative economy, therefore, is accessible to all,” Ricky said.

Inclusiveness is the main force of creative economy to be discussed by Friends of Creative Economy participants. FCE itself is a discussion forum for creative economy players and Penta-helix of Creative Economy, namely academics, entrepreneurs, communities, governments and the media. FCE is projected to consolidate participants’ ideas to formulate "Bali Declaration" which will be proposed to the UN General Assembly next year. This makes this event a starting point for a more positive change for the development of the world's creative economy.

“As among the most dynamic economic sectors, creative economy has proven to provide significant contributions to a state’s revenue, jobs creation, and wealth distribution. Due to its growing importance, creative economy has become engines of growth in many countries.” - Endah Wahyu Sulistianti

“Creative economy provides more than just economic opportunities. It can serve as a bridge of communication, understanding and trust between countries and cultures in a world which looks increasingly fragmented.”- Ricky J. Pesik

The World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) is the first international conference to discuss the creative economy. The event held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) on 6—8 November carries the theme Inclusively Creative by raising five main issues, namely social cohesion, regulation, marketing, ecosystems, and financing of the creative industry. The event is attended by representatives from more than 30 countries and more than 2,000 participants. WCCE 2018 will also formulate Bali Declaration which will be proposed to the UN General Assembly next year. This is expected to further strengthen the ecosystem and support the development of the world's creative economy that has entered the era of 4.0. (Bekraf)
