WCCE 2018 | Indonesia is Able to Produce International Scale Animated Movies

Nusa Dua, InfoPublik - Indonesian human resources is able to make animated films match up to international standards produced by famous Hollywood film studios.

"I am frequently asked about our competence. My answer is we are able," said Director of Technology at Bali Animasi Solusi Ekakarsa (BASE) Daniel Harjanto at the Creative Session of World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE), Nusa Dua, Bali, Tuesday (6/11).

According to him, Indonesian human resources are proven to be able to join film production projects of famous studio from around the globe. In fact, these movies involving Indonesian young generation are best-selling movies.

"If you have watched Transformers, Ronny Ghani from Indonesia was involved in that movie. There is also another Indonesian who works in cinematic games," he added.

Since 2005, he is optimistic that Indonesian people are able to make international scale movies provided that they have the commitment.

"I said we can do it. The key is we must have the commitment," he said.

He expected all stakeholders to actively participate in developing human resources. Without their active role, the maximum development of human resources won’t be achieved.

"Your experience is important. From my experience in Batam, if we don’t have an experienced local animation director then we just hire them from abroad," he concluded.
