Head of BPTJ Appointed as Pelni’s President Commissioner

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Bambang Prihartono was appointed as President Commissioner of PT PELNI (Persero). He currently is the Head of Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) of the Ministry of Transportation.

The appointment of Bambang Prihartono as President Commissioner of Pelni was conducted by Minister of State Owned Enterprises, Rini M. Soemarno, in the General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS) of PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero)/PELNI.

Submission of the Decree of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises was carried out by Deputy of Construction Businesses and Transportation Facilities and Infrastructures, Ahmad Bambang, in Jakarta on Monday, 19 February 2018. It was attended by the Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors of PT PELNI (Persero), as well as officials and employees of the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises.

Ahmad Bambang said that for the development of its business, PELNI must be able to synergize with various parties.

"PT PELNI (Persero) is expected to bring a breakthrough. Currently the trabnsportation of logistic is mostly counducted through land. Innovation is needed to make PELNI known as not only passenger transportation service provider but also sea logistics transportation service provider," he added. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
