Jakarta, InfoPublik - Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (CSMEs) Ministry’s secretary Agus Muharram applauded the cooperative modernization initiated by  Kesejahteraan Ekonomi Bank (BKE) owned by the Indonesian Civil Servant Central Cooperative (IKP-RI).

BKE and PT Telkom Indonesia had collaborated to launch e-Kop service. This collaboration aimed to provide technology-based applications to enhance cooperatives role and function in financial management industry.

"This is a form of cooperative reform implementation that should be supported by all parties. CSMEs Ministry is ready to assist BKE to utilize the information technology development in all cooperatives," said Agus in Jakarta, Friday (9/16).

BKE’s e-Kop service, he explained, is an accountable integrated financial management application based on information technology. Through this technology, cooperative will be able to compete with banking industries and financial institutions.

BKE’s president director Sasmaya Tuhuleley explained that the application contains financial statements and loan organization system (LOS). The application is also integrated with Payment Point Online Banking (PPOB) or payment services.

By using this application, cooperatives are expected to present financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, apply precautionary principle in loan disbursals, and measure the level of health in lending.

BKE’s e-Kop application and the devices will be provided free of charge to all BKE’s cooperative partners. BKE and Telkom also provide a helpdesk to deal with any problems related to the e-Kop usage.

"In the next three years, BKE aims to provide the application to 1,500 cooperatives. Then, the number will be increased to 5,000 cooperatives in line with BKE’s loan disbursement," he explained. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
