Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that Indonesia’s export in August 2016 reached US$12.63 billion, up by 32.54 percent compared to July 2016. BPS deputy of distribution and services statistics Hadi Wibowo Sasmito said oil and gas export in August 2015 rose to US$1.12 billion, up by 12.95 percent. Meanwhile, non-oil export in August 2016 reached US$11.50 billion, up by 34.84 percent compared to July 2016.
"Several increases in oil and gas export are oil products by 35.43 percent, crude oil 19.90 percent, and gas 5.55 percent. In non-oil and gas export sector, iron ore, crust, and metal sand increase US$285.7 million, up by 151.94 percent," Hadi said on Thursday (9/15) at his office in Jakarta.
Indonesia’s major non-oil export destination countries were United States with US$1.36 billion, China with US$1.36 billion, and Japan with US$ 1.17. The combined contribution of the three countries reached 33.79 percent.
Meanwhile, non-oil export to European Union with 28 countries amounted US$1.22 billion. Major exporting provinces in Indonesia from January to August 2016 were West Java with US$16.59 billion (18.09 percent), East Java US$12.54 billion (13.67 percent), and East Kalimantan US$8.80 billion (9.59 percent).
The total value of export from January to August 2016 reached US$91.73 billion, down 10.61 percent compared to the same period in 2015. (Translator: Sugiarti)
