INACA: Indonesian Aviation Growth Improved

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA) revealed that passengers growth this year reached 16 percent.

"The increasing number of air passengers is a good sign of aviation world growth in the country," said the INACA Secretary General, Tengku Burhanuddin, Sunday (8/21).

Furthermore, the Secretary General outlines several factors that influence this year’s passenger growth. First, the improved domestic economic growth that resulted in the increased need for air transport.

Second, the emergence of many new routes this year such as Surabaya–Banyuwangi route. "The emergence of these new routes has supported flight frequencies addition," he said.

Third, the government’s support in the form of infrastructure improvements in a number of areas. This includes improvement and development of airports which resulted in increasing passengers’ convenience.

"The increasing number of air passengers means the increasing state revenues from taxes (VAT)," he added. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
