Jakarta, InfoPublik, The handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Bali is reported to be improving ahead of the 7th global platform for disaster risk reduction (GPDRR) in May 2022. One of which is related to the acceleration of the COVID-19 vaccination program. More than 3.9 million people or 103.73 percent of the COVID-19 vaccination target in Bali have received the first dose of vaccine. More than 3.5 million people or around 94.04 percent of the target have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 752,653 people or around 26.04 percent have received the third (booster) dose of Covid-19 vaccine. This was stated by Bali Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD Bali) Head, I Made Rentin, in his presentation at the 7th 2022 GPDRR media meeting, on Thursday, March 10,2022. In addition to vaccination, positive cases of COVID-19 in Bali have also decreased. Based on data as of March 9, 2022, the number of confirmed positive patients has decreased to 154 people from 199 people on the previous day. The number of recovered patients also increased to 544 people, compared to the previous day 507 people, with the number of deaths 12 people. The number of bed occupancy rates (BOR) in hospitals has also declined. Non-ICU rooms 7.7 percent and ICU rooms 18.6 percent. The 7th GPDRR in Bali will be held at the Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) and the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) on May 23-28, 2022. The event will be attended by around 4,000 people from 193 countries. In addition, 2,000 participants will also take part in this event online. At the 7th GPDRR in Bali, disaster stakeholders and activists will discuss disaster risk reduction (DRR) issues. According to the Deputy System and Strategy of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Raditya Jati, Bali has the advantage of hosting the GPDRR,namely promoting its tourism and cultural destinations to the world, increasing income of Bali province from visits of GPDRR participants and tourists, The 7th GPDRR in Bali also becomes the opportunity for Bali to showcase its achievements in disaster risk reduction and disaster management (PRBPB) as well as encouraging the acceleration of regional and community economic recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and making Bali a model for holding international event during the COVID-19 pandemic at the global level.
