Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi received representatives of Garuda Cup VIII Committee of Indonesian Students Association (PPI) in Malaysia, Andi Muhammad Ryan Januardi and Fadlan Hadi Fashan.
The committee met the Minister at Graha Pemuda Senayan building, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (4/18), to discuss about the soccer competition to be held between Indonesian students studying in Malaysia.
The Minister welcomes PPI Malaysia’s initiative to regularly hold soccer competition, which is now rolling for its 8th period.
"I welcome the initiative. Hopefully it become an event for Indonesian students to nourish their solidarity and friendliness," said Nahrawi.
Unfortunately, the minister could not promise to come and inaugurate the competition. "I hope the president would give the permition,” he said
PPI Malaysia’s Garuda Cup VIII soccer competition is scheduled to open on May 5, 2017 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Stadium, and will be participated by 15-30 PPI branches in all Malaysian campuses with around 3,000 students from Indonesia . (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
