Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia’s Linda Wenifanetri has won the ticket for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games 2016 after winning contention against Maria Febe Kusumastuti this year. Linda determined not to waste this opportunity.

Linda eventually finish better than Febe in gaining points for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She ended the competition for Olympic points by placing herself in 22th world ranks and 15th Olympic ranks. Meanwhile Febe was in 24th world rank.

The journey of these two top national women's singles are equal. Linda earned significant extra points after winning bronze medal at the World Badminton Championships in Jakarta in August 2015. She wanted to maximally use this opportunity.

"I am very grateful to get the ticket to the Olympics. Hopefully, I can give the best results in Rio de Janeiro later," She said in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/11).

She added that she will not waste this opportunity. In 2015, she and Maria Febe competed each other, and their ranks were close. "In fact, my rank is often below Febe’s. I made it my motivation. Because it’s not easy to earn the ticket for Olympics,” she said.

"Until today there is no difficulties. Hopefully everything will go as planned until the Olympics. I’m also grateful that I was not sent to Uber Cup Championship, so I can prepare more for the Olympics,” She uttered.

According to the BWF Rules, the participating countries can only send one representative if it only has one player in top 16. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
