Ubud, InfoPublik - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, encourages the development of educational tourism in the Ubud area, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

He conveyed it during his visit to the Puri Lukisan Museum and the Marketing 3.0 Museum in the Ubud area on Thursday (5/27). According to him, educational tourism such as visits to museums in Ubud is in line with Indonesia's quality tourism development direction.

"We want cultural tourism based on local wisdom, with an emphasis on quality and sustainable tourism, which will be the main theme," Sandiaga said.

Sandiaga said that the Ubud area has potential for cultural-based educational tourism. Apart from museums, Ubud also has several prominent art galleries and tourist villages, such as the traditional village of Mas, which is famous for its wood carvings craft products. He also encourages Ubud to become a "Work From the Gallery" destination as part of Work From Bali jargon.

"Working space will be arranged in galleries and museums throughout Bali to provide facilities for those who have the interest in working surrounded by beautiful nature, artifacts, paintings, as well as world-class craft products. We hope that "Work From the Gallery" will be an option for those who will start working from Bali in the third quarter of 2021," he said.

Sandiaga said this is a form of government support to mobilize and revive the tourism sector and creative economy on the Island of the Gods.

"Our ministry will ensure the programs are right on target and have the right benefits. Of course, by implementing strict and disciplined health protocols," said Sandiaga.

On this occasion, Sandiaga was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati. The man who is familiarly called Cok Ace appreciated the plan to implement "Work From the Gallery" to revive the tourism sector and creative economy. Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Main Secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani and Director of National and International Events Dessy Ruhati also accompanied Sandiaga.

"I agree and appreciate this plan. Hopefully, these museums will not only become part of Ubud tourist attractions but will become a place for education," said Cok Ace.

Apart from the Marketing 3.0 Museum and the Puri Lukisan Museum, Sandiaga also visited the Runa Museum, which exhibits a collection of Balinese jewelry.
