Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Indonesian Pavilion recorded potential transactions worth US$13 million (around Rp.203 billion), on the first day of Food Africa 2022 which took place December 5-7 in Cairo, Egypt. This was conveyed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt, Lutfi Rauf, through his written statement, Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Ambassador Lutfi said the participation of the Indonesian Pavilion at the annual event is the government's effort to improve the export performance of Indonesian products, especially food and beverages, in the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean region. "We hope that Indonesian business actors can continue to promote mainstay products to Egypt, even though the global economic condition is not yet stable because the Egyptian market needs food and beverage products, where more than 75 percent of the export market share for Indonesian products in Egypt is food and beverages," said Ambassador Lutfi. According to Lutfi, Indonesia and Egypt's exports and imports increased during the January-September period, so that trade between the two countries complemented each other and it strengthens economic cooperation. Meanwhile, Indonesian Trade Attache to Egypt Irman Adi Purwanto Moefthi said, through Food Africa 2022, the government facilitates Indonesian entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to promote mainstay products, such as palm oil derivative products, coffee, spices, sauces and seasonings, beverages, herbal plants, animal feed, as well as industrial and household waste processing machines. Indonesian companies participating in the Indonesian Pavilion include PT Selaras Rasakoe Indonesia (spices and seasoning products), PT Mandala Prima Makmur/Prospero Food (chocolate and coffee), AK Goldenesia (CPO and its derivatives), PT Sumber Kopi Prima (instant coffee Caffino), PT Alam Scientia Asia (seasonings & condiments), Nusako, PT Jagad Kelapa Nusantara (coconut water), PT Chita Agri Indonesia (coffee, moringa, corn feed and waste processing machines), PT International Niaga Globalindo (chocolate and coffee), as well as PT Ikafood Putramas (seasoning). The Indonesian Pavilion was also visited by Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir, Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Domestic Trade Ali Moselhi, and Chair of the Egyptian-Indonesian Business Council (EIBC) Sherif el Gabali. Apart from Indonesia, around 30 other countries participated in the Food Africa 2022 expo, including Germany, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Japan and Kuwait.
