InfoPublik, Jakarta - The first quarter of 2022 saw a rise in business activity, according to the results of the Business Activity Survey (SKDU). This is represented in the Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of 8.71 percent, which is higher than the WNB of 7,10 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Improvements in business performance are indicated, particularly in the Agriculture, Plantation, Livestock, Forestry and Fisheries sectors, particularly the Food Crops (Tabama) sub-sector, in line with the historical pattern of harvest seasons and the Manufacturing Industry sector, with increased industrial activity and mobility.
This was stated by Erwin Haryono, Executive Director of Bank Indonesia's (BI) Communications Department, in a press release issued on Sunday, April 17th.
According to Erwin, in line with the growth of business activities, used production capacity in the first quarter of 2022 was 73.08 percent, up from 72.60 percent the previous quarter. Even if it is still in the contraction phase, the use of labor appears to be improving.
Meanwhile, the financial situation of the business world appears to be improving in comparison to the preceding time, notably in terms of liquidity, which is accompanied by greater access to finance.
Respondents predicted sustained growth in business activities in the second quarter of 2022, with a WNB of 23.24 percent.
Increased community activities following the start of the National Religious Holidays (HBKN) Eid al-Fitr period and the relaxation of mobility policies are expected to drive an increase in business activity in several main sectors, including mining and quarrying, manufacturing industry, and trade, hotel and restaurant.
