Inclusive Labor Market and Decent Jobs for Persons with Disabilities Priority Issues at G20 EWG Meeting

Jakarta, InfoPublik - On the second day of the 1st G20 Employment Working Group (EWG) meeting, Indonesia also invited the Engagement Group to discuss priority issues, namely inclusive labor market and decent jobs for persons with disabilities.

"Today we will also have a series of discussions. Yesterday we already have discussion with G20 members, so today we will have a discussion with engagement groups, namely groups that are closely related to employment, such as Business20, Community 20, Civil 20, Youth 20 , and Woman Labor 20," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower, Anwar Sanusi, in a written statement, Thursday, March 10,2022.

In addition, on the second day, there were also presentations from countries outside G20 members, namely Cambodia (which will be the chair of the ASEAN Labor Ministers Meeting (ALMM) for the next period, Spain, and Singapore.

These countries, said Anwar Sanusi, will explain government policies related to employment issues which will be input in the upcoming G20 meeting in September 2022.

“We also want to listen their policies related to persons with disabilities and their stances on ensuring that people with disabilities will have access to employment for a better life," he said.

Anwar Sanusi hope that the implementation of the EWG can generate output of mutual agreement in creating inclusive job market.

"We hope there will be cooperation and steps for us to learn from each other, how each country encourages involvement, encourages access to labor market for people with disabilities to be able to get decent job," he said.
