Jakarta, InfoPublik - Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ Directorate General of Oil and Gas has signed a second phase of gas network construction (Jargas) amounting to 33,518 house connections (SR).
The Rp309.1 billion project is intended for six cities and regencies.
Oil and Gas Infrastructure Planning and Development Director Alimuddin Baso hoped the gas network construction to be completed on time and meet the quality level and budget that have been set.
"The contractor must also pay attention to the applicable health protocols in preventing the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19)," Alimuddin said in his written statement on Wednesday (08 April).
The signing of the said contract package was divided into two stages online and offline.
The first was the contract of the construction of gas network in Langsa City, Aceh Tamiang Regency and Deli Serdang Regency amounting to 16,709 SR with a contract value of Rp156.3 billion.
The Second was the contract of gas network construction in Balikpapan City, North Penajam Paser Regency and Tarakan City amounting to 16,809 SR with a contract value of Rp152.8 billion.
Alimuddin added that the government will evaluate the contract packages that have not been signed. This evaluation was carried out due to budget reallocation for the handling of Covid-19 pandemic.
"The government has announced a large budgetary need for Covid-19. All sectors will contribute. There will be priority that will be done according to the schedule, and some will be evaluated due to insufficient duration of time," he explained.
Previously on 10 March, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and the Regional Government had signed seven contract packages worth Rp862.3 billion to build 82,157 SRs in 15 regencies/cities.
With the signing of the contract, 21 regencies/cities are scheduled to build 115,675 SR gas networks.
Specifically this year, the government targets the allocation of gas network construction in 49 regencies/cities amounting 266,070 SR. (Photo: Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources)
