Jakarta, InfoPublik – Finance Ministry’s Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) organized Voyage to Indonesia's International Seminar in Yogyakarta as a part of a series of events to precede the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings 2018 in October in Bali.
This seminar was conducted under the theme: “Inequality and the Role of Technology in Shaping the Future of Work”. "This international seminar is organized to support the Argentinian presidency’s on G20 in 2018 that addresses the Future of Work issue," said Rionald Silaban, Finance Minister’s Macro Economics and Finance expert staff, in a written statement received on Tuesday (1/23).
In this seminar, the panelists discussed disparity issues both domestically and internationally in the world and how to overcome them, especially by utilizing technology transformation as a tool to enable economic equality, especially in the Future of Work.
"I hope in this seminar we can share experiences and learn how technology can improve economic potential," he added.
Yogyakarta was chosen as the seminar’s host city because it took the initiative to overcome the disparity by using technology and developed the cyber village since 2008. In this village, the citizens uses internet access to develop e-commerce. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
