KUKM Expected to Understand the 10th, 11th, and 14th Economic Policy Packages

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (KUKM) Ministry held a business meeting withMSMEs in which information dissemination and technical guidance/partnership were given. The business meeting was held in Yogyakarta, Central Java.

KUKM ministry’s Deputy for business restructuring Yuana Sutyowati stated that the meeting was held to improve MSMEs’ competitiveness. “Investment improvement is very important in providing high, stable, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth. It is also expected to promote Indonesia as production base and logistics center in order to strengthen Indonesia’s position when harnessing the ASEAN Economic Community market expansion and global supply chain,” she said. 

However, Yuana continued in her affidavit, Sunday (4/16), investment improvement for accelerating development must protect the cooperatives and MSMEs and other national strategies. The 10th Economic Policy Package on negative investment revised lists (DNI) regulates the open or closed foreign investments. It comprises the regulation regarding requirements for investor in conducting business or investment in the country, one of which  conducting partnership with local cooperatives and MSMEs.

Furthermore, the DNI also states that cooperatives and MSMEs could join the government or private procurement within the limits of a certain value. In addition, cooperatives and MSMEs should understand the 11th economic policy package on export-oriented public business loan (KURBE) and the 14th economic policy package on e-commerce. 

“Most cooperatives and MSMEs have not recognized the regulations yet. Kurbe which facilitates the trending e-commerce in the global era with online market which serves as an effective and easy means of product marketing,” Yuana concluded. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
