Jakarta, InfoPublik - Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has organized the 51st ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting in Bali on 13 to 14 February 2017. The meeting was attended by 15 countries to discuss the strategic development of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) and future plan.
The meeting became the basis for BPK to initiate a seminar entitled "Enhancing Professionalization through Optimizing SAI's Performance Measurement Framework (PMF): The Experience of SAIS in Asian Region", in Denpasar, Bali on February 14, 2017.
Chairman of BPK RI, Harry Azhar Azis, explained that BPK is aware of the importance of exploring SAI’s perspectives and experiences in Asia in implementing the Performance Assessment Framework (PMF) which contribute to the ASOSAI’s next initiative.
"This seminar is also aimed to support one of ASOSAI’s goals, which is to encourage understanding and cooperation through ideas and experiences exchange in public sector audit," Harry said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday (2/15).
Harry added that SAI’s PMF enables SAI to assess their performance in line with the SAI’s performance measurement in international best practices in six major domains, namely: Independence and Legal Framework; Internal Governance and Ethics; Audit Quality and Reporting; Financial Management, Assets and Support Structures; Human Resources and Training; and Communication and Stakeholder Management.
According to him, the expected output of the seminar is to increase Asian SAI’s knowledge on SAI’s PMF professionalism and implementation, to identify SAI’s conditions and needs in the region on the SAI’s PMF implementation, and to identify potential initiatives from SAI in Asia in order to support the INTOSAI (International Organizations Audit Institutions) strategic plan achievement.
