Jakarta, InfoPublik – Agriculture Ministry aimed to build 1,000 Indonesian Farmer Shops (TTI) in Jakarta by March 2017 to facilitate the people in getting quality food at an affordable price.

Agriculture Ministry’s Food Security Agency (BKP) interim head Spudnik Sujono stated that the number of TTIs that sell various commodities of staple foods would increase.

Currently, there are only 65—from 1,000 as targeted—TTIs built in some areas in Jakarta.

“We have strengthened the TTIs by multiplying the existing 22 [last week] into 43 new shops. Thus, there are 65 TTIs in total,” said Spudnik at TTI Center in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Monday (2/13).

He explained that building TTI is not difficult because it just need to prepare the existing stall then turn it into TTI. He was optimistic that 1,000 TTIs would be finished by March 2017.

“1,000 TTIs in March, Insha Allah [if God wills it]. It must be quick and there must be a change,” he said.

He added in the future, TTIs would not only be built in Jakarta, but also in the buffer zones of Jakarta such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.

The commodities supplied by TTIs consist of 8 tons of rice, 2.5 tons of sugar, 650 kg of onion, 625 kg of curly red chili, 252 liters of cooking oil, and 500 kg of beef.

Each is offered at the price of Rp8,000 per kg for rice, Rp80,000 per kg for beef, Rp65,000 per kg for buffalo meat, Rp13,500 per 0.5 kg for onion, Rp7,500 per 0.25 kg for curly red chili, Rp12,500 per kg for sugar, Rp12,000 per liter for cooking oil, and Rp8,500 per 0.25 kg of garlic.
