Jakarta, InfoPublik - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi stated that his meeting with North Maluku Governor Abdul Ghani Kasuba on Saturday (2/4) was specifically to address the improvement of facilities and infrastructure required for air and sea transportation in North Maluku.
The meeting, held as part of the minister’s working-visit agenda in North Maluku, was to review transportation infrastructure in the province, including to review the Ahmad Yani Seaport in Ternate. "For sea-toll program implementation, we already have one ship that serves once a month and local government requested to intensify the route and to increase the quality and quantity of the service," Minister Budi said.
Furthermore, the minister said that north maluku local government officials requested additional routes for crossing served by PT. ASDP
"I have confirmed PT. ASDP and they agreed to add crossing routes in North Maluku," Budi said.
Related to public sails, Budi added, the ministry will study the possibilities of subsidy granting.
In addition, during the meeting, the north maluku local government also proposed the development of a number of new infrastructures, namely new airport construction and seaport extension. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
