Jakarta, InfoPublik - Cooperatives and Small & Medium Enterprises Minister Puspayoga said his office plans to bring Warteg (acronym for warung Tegal, low-cost food stall run by people from Tegal regency, Central Java) to go international. He urged warteg owners to start developing their business.

In addition, Puspayoga also urged warteg owners to establish cooperatives in Tegal and Malaysia in accordance with the principle of creating the welfare of its members. "The establishment of cooperatives  will help to create  welfare for its members.” He explained, Thursday (29/9).

The Cooperatives SMEs Ministry assessed the brand of "warteg" brand is very strong among Indonesian people. Indonesian nationals residing in Malaysia should know about Warteg and they will buy the products.

Earlier, Mr. Puspayoga also received the visit of Tegal Mayor Siti Masitha Soeparno. He promised to help expand Warteg business in Malaysia. "We will open wartegs in Malaysia. In addition, we will also display main products and potentioals of Tegal," he explained.(Translator:Sugiarti)
