Australia’s Victoria State to Explore Cooperation in Agriculture

Jakarta, InfoPublik – Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita received Australia’s Victoria state Agriculture Minister  Jaala Pulford’s visit at Trade Ministry office, Jakarta, Monday (9/26).

During the visit, the two ministers held talks on the enhancement of cooperation in trade and investment.

"Minister Pulford’s working visit was to explore enhancement of cooperation in trade," said Minister Enggar to the press.

Enggar stated, a number of issues discussed at the meeting and became particular concern for the Victoria state were related to agricultural aid it has performed for Indonesian farmers. In addition, Victoria also explored the potential for conducting investment in Indonesia.

"I also asked them to not only cooperate in trade but also invest in Indonesia," he said.

According to him, Indonesia would welcome enhancement on cooperation concerning food. "We are welcoming the offer to enhance the cooperation and allowing them to contact the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). We suggest them to coordinate with PT Pos Indonesia which has network throughout Indonesia," he said.

During the visit, Minister Pulford was accompanied by Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Paul Grigson. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
