Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Transportation Ministry threatens to suspend Lion Air’s flight permit  if within six months after the issuance of the warning letter the airlines still facing prolonged or massive delays.

"The letter that we sent yesterday was the last warning letter. If within three months after this letter was issued massive delays still occur, the government will halt the permission to add frequencies or to open new routes," said Transportation Ministry Public Information and Communication Bureau Chief Hemi Pamurahardjo, Friday (13/5).

Hemi strictly stated that if within the next three months delays are still occurring, the flight permits for those routes will be frozen.

Directorate General of Air Transportation has sent a sanction letter on Tuesday (10/5) to Lion Air Group regarding the crew and pilot strike. The strike were causing delays in more than one plane and disadvantaged passangers.

The strike was caused by Lion Air management’s failure in providing transportation allowances for its employees. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
