Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Creative Economy Agency Head Triawan Munaf believes that the revision of Negative Investment List (DNI) will help the development of domestic film industry.
"We expect that DNI revision can promote the national film," said triawan Munaf on a hearing (RDP) with the House Commission X held in Jakarta, Thursday (4/28).
According to him, all this time Indonesian film industry has been supported by domestic capital only. This is not enough to drive Indonesian film industry. Foreign capital is required in order to enable Indonesian film industry to compete with foreign films.
"We cannot rely only on domestic capital in filmmaking," he said.
He stated that to minimize the impact of the DNI, the Creative Economy Agency is collaborating with the center for film production in formulating policies and regulations to prevent the DNI from bringing negative impact on the Indonesian film industry.
"I will put my concern and will fight to prevent the DNI from jeopardizing Indonesian film industry," he added.
He added that with the support from foreign capital, domestic film industry human resources will be given training abroad, by which they are expected to improve the quality of local films. (Translator: Siti Chodijah)
