Jakarta, InfoPublik - Bank Indonesia gave awards to 13 best clusters which were considered successful in developing clusters that support inflation control program.
The awards were handed by Bank Indonesia Governor Agus DW Martowardojo in Bank Indonesia Inflation Control Program Performance Appreciation event on Monday, April 25, 2016 in Jakarta.
The main winner of the Inflation Control Program Performance Appreciation was organic rice cluster supervised by Ngawi regency government and BI Kediri representative office.
BI Governor said the appreciation program aims to encourage, inspire and accelerate the replication of programs for inflation contributor commodity development with cluster approach.
“By conducting this activity, we also expect to increase stakeholders’ awareness on the importance of coordination in controlling inflation both at regional and national level," said Agus in Jakarta, Monday (4/25).
On the other hand, Agus explained that the inflation was recorded low in March 2016 and it further supports the prospects of achieving the inflation target in 2016 at 4.0±1 percent.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded an inflation of 0.19 percent (mtm) or 4.45 percent (yoy), mainly contributed by volatile foods components.
According to him, Bank Indonesia is confident that inflation will be around the midpoint of the inflation target range at 4.0±1 percent in 2016.
"Bank Indonesia’s policy coordination with the government in controlling inflation will continue to be strengthened, in anticipation of possible inflationary pressures in volatile foods category," he concluded. (Translator : Erik Limantara)
