Jakarta, InfoPublik - Moody's Investors Service has ranked Indonesia in “investment grade” rating. Despite external pressure on economic growth, Indonesia's economy continues to grow better than the countries in the same rank.

Moody's affirmed Indonesia Sovereign Credit Rating in Baa3/stable outlook. Stable outlook reflects that Indonesia remains resilient to external pressure coming from commodity price decline and international financial market volatility.

Governor of Bank Indonesia Agus DW Martowardojo in a written statement, Friday (1/29), said that Moody’s affirmation confirms the recognition of the country’s economic resilience in facing economic slowdown and global financial volatility. "The balance between monetary and fiscal policy and sustainable structural reforms become the key to success in achieving higher growth in Indonesia," he said.

Some of the key factors supporting the affirmation of Indonesia's sovereign credit rating are strong financial management by the government amid rising fiscal deficit and effective policy responses in managing the risk of the falling of commodity prices and the weakening of economic growth in order to ensure a sustainable external sector.
