Jakarta, InfoPublik – The proposal to authorize cooperative as one of the non-bank institutions to distribute people’s business credit (KUR) must be assessed immediately.
It was stated by the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises A. A. G. N. Puspayoga at the Dissemination of KUR 2016 Distribution Acceleration and Entrepreneurship Development in Surabaya, East Java, Monday (1/25). "If the banks dispense KUR to cooperatives with nine percent interest, then it should be assessed how much interest cooperatives must apply to their members,” he said in official statement.
Mr. Puspayoga continued local KUR distribution must also involve the cooperative. The Ministry is encouraging the acceleration of KUR distribution in 2016 with a minimum target of Rp100 trillion.
The involvement of cooperatives as conduits of KUR will be implemented this year in line with the government's desire to boost cooperatives and SMEs to improve their productivity. As the result, the people can enjoy the outcome and the productivity keeps on rolling.
Minister Puspayoga stated that he would conduct dissemination periodically so the targeted KUR absorption can be realized. He assured that if cooperatives and SMEs sector could run well, job creation and people’s welfare will be achieved.
“I will visit all areas in Indonesia like last year as part of KUR distribution acceleration effort. Last year’s four months duration was not enough, but now I have the whole year and I will continue my visits," he concluded. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
