Nation Branding Promotion Needs To Be Expanded, IMA Says

Jakarta, InfoPublik - Chairman of the Indonesia Marketing Association (IMA) Arif Wibowo asserted that IMA Bali Chapter needs to expand its promotion and marketing activities as well as increase cooperation with both the central and the local governments.

This promotional activity also requires the support of other organizations and institutions to expand the scale of Indonesia’s nation branding in the global arena significantly.
 
IMA as a marketing organization needs to encourage creativity and expand its role not only in the field of tourism but also in the wider business fields, including in small and medium scale businesses sectors.
 
IMA is capable to give assistance by providing effective methods of modern marketing in order to increase the local and national competitiveness, said Mr. Wibowo in a press release, Sunday (1/17).
 
According to him, nation branding as a country’s strategic representation has the potential to improve the country’s competitiveness. Nation branding is expected to create a reputation capital through the promotion of economic, social, and cultural sectors, even in the political field both at home and abroad.
 
"A good reputation of a country is a must, especially in this global market era. By having a good reputation, a country will gain the confidence to cooperate with other countries and no longer be underestimated in its participation in the global competition," said Mr. Wibowo who is also the Chairman of the Indonesia National Air Carrier Association (INACA).
 
By building the nation branding, he said, Indonesia as a creative nation will focus itself on the creativity in all sectors.
 
As the results, it can stimulate the creative products export growth and grow a sense of pride amongst Indonesians. Nation branding that has been realized can be viewed from the tourism, investment, trade, and creative economy sectors. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
