(Denpasar, InfoPublik) - Indonesian National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo called on all police officers assigned to secure the G20 Summit to work with strong senses of professionalism and responsibility in order to maintain the country’s credibility under the world’s spotlight. He also affirmed that his ranks will uphold a humanism approach while still taking firm actions to handle situation that emerges in the Summit.
The statement was made by the Chief during his remarks at the Troops Roll Call Ceremony of the 2022 Puri Agung Operation to secure the G20 Summit at Puputan Margarana Niti Mandala Field, Denpasar, Bali, Monday (11/7/2022).
In the G20 Summit operation, the police will be responsible to maintain security in three layer areas. “The third layer is the outermost layer that has direct contact with the society. The police are required to show humanist, friendly, but also firm acts when it is needed so they are able to reduce potential threats to the security that will hamper the Summit,” Listyo firmly said.
The event was also attended by the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Andika Perkasa, Bali Vice Governor Tjokorda Artha Ardana, Udayana Bali Military Area Commander (Pangdam) Major General Sonny Aprianto, and Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra.
“Take security measures in a humanistic way while still taking firm actions based on the principles of professionalism, proportionality, and accountability,” he said.
In addition, the National Police Chief ordered police chiefs in all layers of administration to work on the ground to observe control and supervision. He hoped that all personnel actions are in accordance with applicable rules and standard operating procedure (SOP).
The police on duty, he underscored, remain attentive in anticipating all possible contingency situations. These situations include traffic violations, crime, riots, terror and disasters.
In performing their duties during the G20 Summit, they must uphold cooperation, synergy, and solidarity with all related parties. Strengthening public communication is also important in the process of action taking. Moreover, Listyo said, the duty to secure international conference is a mandate entrusted to us for the sake of Indonesia’s good reputation in the world.
The Police Chief reminded messages from President Joko Widodo about preserving the dignity and trust given to the police during the upcoming international event. The President expected the police to mitigate all possible circumstances as minimum as possible. Therefore, the success of the G20 Summit will be able to increase the country’s credibility.
Remain Vigilant
The honor and appreciation to the police in duty are expressed because up until today, the series of activities towards the G20 main event on November 15—16 run smoothly and securely. “Let’s keep this up,” he added.
For the record, the police will organize the 2022 Puri Agung Operation to secure the G20 Summit on November 8—17, 2022. This operation covers three regions; Bali, East Java, and West Nusa Tenggara.
In that operation, the police will deploy 9,700 personnel including 3,669 reserve personnel at Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters (Mako Brimob) and 11 Regional Mobile Brigade offices. They are troops that have special abilities and apply modern technology integrated with a command center.

The equipment includes electric vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles that will be used during the G20 Summit, unmanned aircraft or drones, armored vehicles, rapid reaction units, medical and Inafis (Indonesia Automatic Finger Print Identification System) team vehicles.
