Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, and the Indonesian Ambassador to the UK Desra Percaya were received by the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday (10/28) afternoon London time at the British Prime Minister's Office.

A press statement received by Infopublik, Friday (10/29) said the meeting of the two country officials discussed the International Conference on Climate Change or the Conference of the Parties (COP26), the G20 Summit, handling deforestation, and new and renewable energy cooperation.

PM Boris Johnson praised Indonesia's handling of deforestation. "Indonesia has done a great job tackling deforestation," said Johnson.

On that occasion, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut submitted a proposal for a High-Level Dialogue between Indonesia and the United Kingdom and a task force to accelerate the implementation of Indonesia-UK cooperation in various fields. PM Boris Johnson expressed his approval and support for this mechanism and specifically mentioned several areas of cooperation in green technology and new renewable energy.

"Many collaborations can be implemented immediately and announced later during PM Boris Johnson's visit to Indonesia in the context of the G-20 Summit in Bali," he said.

President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Boris Johnson will have an official bilateral meeting at COP 26.
