Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Transportation Ministry's head of human resources development agency (BPSDMP) Wahyu Satrio Utomo and the President of Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC) Marc Houalla signed Memorandum of Understanding on Air Transport Human Resources Development Implementation last weekend.

The cooperation comprises the provision of air transport human resources education and training and it is effective on the date of its signing and will remain in force for a period of one year.

The Head of BPSDMP explained that along with the rapid development of aviation industry, Transportation Ministry's BPSDMP must increase the transportation human resources capacity.

“We hope ENAC’s Master Degree  Programme, Institutional Strengthless Cooperation Programme, and Transfer of Technology for aviation lecturers can be materialized immediately,” said Tommy. “ENAC is chosen to cooperate with because they have a vision that every lecturer meets international standard which will be implemented in the Indonesian Aviation Institute (STPI).”

“We will send two persons from each department in STPI starting next year [to ENAC] and will also develop a short course on aviation education agency management in order to create a better STPI management and produce better graduates as well,” said Tommy.

Tommy said that there are 70 aircraft units produced anually. Airport development is also consistent with air transport development. Thus, qualified and professional air transport human resources are highly needed. In this case, their capability should be increased as an effort to increase aviation safety. To meet that demand, support from every party is needed to give positive impact on aviation safety in Indonesia.

“Besides domestic support, international organizations such as EASA, FAA, CAA, etc, also support this program, and currently we are cooperating with ENAC,” Tommy concluded. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
