Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) expected public to support the Economic Census conducted from 1 to 31 May 2016, by providing accurate information to census officer.
"The data can be used as a reference in boosting the economic progress of the nation and its region. We expect support from public, including businessmen, craftsmen, etc., to provide valid data," said a House of Representatives Commission XI member Muslim Ayub in Jakarta, Thursday (3/31).
Without valid data, he added, it will be difficult for the government to determine the right economic policies. The Economic Census 2016 is in line with one of the points of Nawacita, namely improving people's productivity and competitiveness in the international market so that Indonesia can become equal with other advanced nations in the world.
The economic census is also in line with Nawacita in realizing economic independence by driving strategic sectors of the domestic economy. "We all must support the 2016 Economic Census," he said. (Translator: Siti Chodijah)
