Jakarta, InfoPublik - Deputy of Harmonization and Partnership Ministry of Youth and Sports Gatot S. Dewa Broto held a press conference related to the limited meeting regarding Asian Games (AG) 2018 preparation and MotoGP 2017 at the Ministry of Youth and Sports office in Jakarta, Monday night (1/11).

Mr. Gatot reported the results of the limited ministerial meetings held in the morning at the office of the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture and in the afternoon at the State Palace with President Joko Widodo. "The meeting was to discuss the constructions of the velodrome at Rawamangun and Equestrian that have been no progress from the Jakarta Government. Regarding the development of Athletes Villages, renovation bidding for Block C2 and D10 invitation will be announced tonight. The block is capable to accommodate all the athletes. If it is not, another block will be built again at the Block C3 by the National Housing Corporation," he said.

According to him, velodrome and equestrian must be built, because they are required by the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia). Meanwhile the constructions of Kemayoran Athletes Village and GBK Stadium are already on the track and keep ongoing  according to the time schedule. To minimize the OCA reactions related to the physical development of GBK Stadium, Public Works and Housing Task Force will present the renovation master plan.

“Mascot revision, reportedly still remains on track. After a limited meeting at the State Palace, Minister of Youth and Sports met Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Vice Presidential Palace related to the revision because it was the Vice President who previously launched the mascot. In principle, Vice President JK agrees on the revision," he said.

Related to MotoGP, Gatot emphasized three things that must be met first by the Sentul Circuit side. First, Tinton Suprapto must complete the master plan within one week. Secondly, contract with Dorna must be resolved. Third, statement letter that indicates the Sentul Circuit ownership by Tinton Suprapto as the President Director and Tommy Suharto as the Chief Commissioner must be submitted. The goal is that they both will be held responsible for any legal problems in the future. The President will never sign the decree regarding MotoGP if those three things were not resolved.

"The President stated that MotoGP problem should be examined seriously because there is a portion of national budget used for a pure private party," said Gatot. (Translator: Erik Limantara)
