Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesia Port Corporations II/IPC continues to collaborate with global shipping companies.

IPC President Director, Elvyn G. Masassya said that IPC serves large vessels to perform direct call from Indonesia to all continents.

According to Elvyn, there are 8 giant vessels on average in 1 month with the capacity of 10 thousand TEUs that dock at Tanjung Priok Port. He continued by saying that said vessels carry export and import goods through direct call to the destination country.

“The latest one is the direct call to Russia. There has never been a direct call of large vessels from and to Russia,” said Elvyn in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/11).

Elvyn also said that prices of export goods can be more competitive through improvement of direct call service. On the contrary, the prices of import goods get lower due to the increasingly lower logistics cost.

It does not stop there as IPC also continues to develop the port ecosystem in order to strengthen the strategic role of IPC as Trade Facilitator.

“All of this will eventually result in logistics cost decrease as targeted by the government,” he said.
