Jakarta Airport Skytrain Operates 20 Hours a Day

Jakarta, InfoPublik – Angkasa Pura (AP) II president director Muhammad Awaluddin said AP has increased the operation time of the KALAYANG (skytrain) or the Soekarno-Hatta Airport skytrain to 20 hours a day. This is as part of efforts to ease passengers travel from the airport’s station to the terminals.

The skytrain will be operating 20 hours a day, he continued, from 4.27 a.m. to midnight or depends on the arrival time of the last train at the Soekarno Hatta airport, and the rest 4 hours will be used for daily maintenance.

"As of 2 January 2018, KALAYANG has used a dual track with a total length of 3,070 meters and two units of KALAYANG in each shelter with a 13-minute headway," he explained on Tuesday (1/2).


Awaluddin also added that the integration  between airport train and skytrain is a service innovation in providing certainty, speed and comfort of passengers upon arrival in Soekarno Hatta and will make the connecting time to and from terminals more effective and efficient. 

"We hope that these new facilities can deliver Soekarno-Hatta International Airport as one of the best airports in the world that belong to the Skytrax five-star," he said.

In addition, Awaluddin also mentioned on the development of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the future, namely the construction of the third runway to increase the capacity of the airplane to 112 movements per hour, the construction of East Cross Taxiway to increase efficecy of aircraft movement and the plan to build terminal 4 to increase passenger capacity at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
