Jakarta, InfoPublik - Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK)'s Deputy Commissioner for Public Relations and Strategic Management Anto Prabowo stated that in the second half of 2019,  OJK will continue to implement strategic policies and initiatives to continue supporting the financing of Government priority sectors in promoting economic growth.

"OJK also continues to encourage the empowerment of MSMEs and small-income communities, information technology innovations in financial services industry and internal reforms in the regulation and supervision of financial services sector," Anto Prabowo said in Jakarta, Monday (29/7).

Anto explained, in the first semester of 2019 the OJK focused on increasing the contribution of financial services sector in financing the national economy by issuing a series of policies to increase the financing potential of financial service institutions and expand investor access to domestic financial market.

"In order to maintain the stability of financial services sector, OJK's policy is focused on maintaining the risk profile of financial services institutions at a low level, among others through the strengthening of information technology-based banking supervision," he said.

He added, amid the global economic uncertainty and the tension of trade war, OJK has always continued to strengthen coordination with stakeholders to mitigate external uncertainties and also optimize the contribution of financial services sector in development.

OJK also appreciated Bank Indonesia's policy to continue support the strengthening of the intermediary function of financial services institutions, among others, through easing of the statutory reserve requirement (GWM) and lowering interest rates.

"OJK always hopes that the synergy that has been created will continue to be improved, both in terms of policy to support the performance of intermediary financial service institutions and in ability to maintain the stability of national financial services sector," said Anto.
