Jakarta, InfoPublik - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy made a working visit to Keroom Regency, Papua Province, Thursday, September 9, 2021.
Keroom Regency is a border area between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. This visit aims to ensure that social assistances provided by the central government are well received by all communities, including those living in border areas.
"Based on monitoring and report, the distribution of social assistances, such as the Family Hope Program (PKH), Staple Food Card Program, and Social Cash Assistance (BST) have reached more than 90 percent. However, village fund distribution is still relatively low, below 70 percent," said the Coordinating Minister
Meanwhile, the implementation of Staple Food Card program and PKH program are going quite well. The Beneficiaries can use the non-cash assistance to buy basic necessities at the nearest e-warung agent.
In addition to inspect social assistance distribution, the Minister also visited the resident houses in several districts in Keroom Regency. His party will coordinate with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Social Affairs, and local government.
“Earlier, I spoke with the Regent, the development in Keroom is good enough, it just needs to be accelerated. This includes the rejuvenation of oil palm plantations that are no longer productive because the welfare of the people here is also largely supported by oil palm plantations," said Muhadjir Effendy.
