Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment made a field visit and attended the signing of the Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency (BSSN), PT Huawei Tech Investment, and the Del Institute of Technology (IT) in Jakarta on Monday (9/27).

With the agreement on the Belt Road Initiative and Global Maritime Fulcrum Framework (BRI-GMF), the two countries have further strengthened cooperation in various fields, ranging from maritime, health, and life sciences. In line with the agreement, Indonesia and Huawei cooperate in green development and technology. It is by respecting the other country's sovereign integrity and social customs.

"The establishment of the Huawei Academy in Indonesia and the collaboration between Huawei, BSSN, and IT Del demonstrate Huawei's commitment to not only building digital infrastructure in Indonesia but also developing digital human resources and transferring high technology," said Coordinating Minister Luhut.

Meanwhile, Huawei Founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei emphasized that there is one potential that the two countries can explore, namely the intelligence of young people and how they can create a breakthrough in technology. Currently, technology is a field that is still considered wide open for development opportunities.

The collaboration between BSSN, PT Huawei Tech Investment, and IT Del is carried out to advance and connect Indonesia. "We support technology development in Indonesia, and our staff will continue to work hard for all of this," said Huawei Indonesia CEO Jacky Chen.

Head of BSSN Hinsa Siburian stated that the ease of communication and business is included in the welfare aspect of BSSN. Indonesia is one of the countries with high digital growth, coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, which demands many things to be done online. However, with the advancement of technology, the higher the risk or security threat.

Therefore, cooperation from various parties is needed, such as the government, the private sector, and academia, to strive for digital transformation for the nation's progress. All of these parties will collaborate to improve cyber security. "As academics, we will try to provide training and education," said IT Chancellor Del Professor Togar Simatupang.

"With this collaboration, the government hopes that Indonesia can move towards green development, create technology that is more environmentally friendly, and create a smart Indonesia," said Coordinating Minister Luhut on the same occasion.

In addition, all parties also hope that this collaboration will significantly bring out technologies that can reduce the use of fossil fuels and energy, encourage the development of a comprehensive lithium battery and electric vehicle supply chain in Indonesia. Also, promote renewable energy using solar panels, hydropower, and other renewable energies.

After attending the MoU signing, Coordinating Minister Luhut also toured the PT Huawei Tech Investment office. At the location, Coordinating Minister Luhut explained Huawei's various high technologies. For example, artificial intelligence-based security, smart energy systems, efficient and electricity-saving data storage technology, digital transformation using the cloud for agency needs, and product launches for use by society. All of these technologies are made to improve and simplify our lives.

During his visit, Coordinating Minister Luhut was also shown the features and facilities offered by PT Huawei Tech Investment for its employees.

Huawei Asia Pacific Region President Jeffrey Liu, Special Advisor to the Coordinating Minister Jona Widhagdo Putri, Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arsjad Rasjid, Chair of the Indonesian Fintech Association Pandu Sjahrir also attended the occasion.
