22 Ministries and Institutions to Support the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Jakarta, InfoPublik – As many as 22 Ministries and institutions, as well as eight provincial governments, is ready to support the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai which is scheduled for 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Trade Ministry's Director-General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi said the support was necessary since Indonesia Pavilion will display hundreds of products and various programs in a hybrid manner.

"A number of ministries, institutions, and provincial governments totaling 30 participants will enliven the Indonesia Pavilion with various hybrid programs," said Didi Sumedi in an official statement received by InfoPublik on Tuesday, 28 September.

He further explained that the Indonesia Pavilion presents the theme ‘Creating the Future, from Indonesia to the World’, the country’s effort to promote the potential of the archipelago in trade, investment, and tourism to the world, for the entire six months of the Expo.

The Indonesia Pavilion, which occupies an area of ​​1,860 m2, will showcase more than 300 export-worthy products of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including commodities, handicrafts, interiors, textiles, and fashion products.

"Local products from the diversity of Indonesian culture and local wisdom will be exhibited at the Nusantara Heritage Exhibition at the Indonesian Pavilion," he added.

The Indonesia Pavilion will likewise showcase the country’s potential for spices, palm-based derivative products, and culinary heritage.

For the entire six months of the Expo, the Indonesia Pavilion will also present 26 weekly themes and more than 75 business forums. This is a golden opportunity for Indonesia to promote all trade and tourism potentials to the global market.

"Indonesia's participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai is a golden opportunity since it brings many benefits, including strengthening Indonesia's economic growth," he said.

In addition to trade potential, Indonesia's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai is also expected to attract investment opportunities from global investors, especially from the Middle East.

Didi Sumedi explained that the Indonesia Pavilion will introduce investment opportunities in Indonesia, from the realization of Industry 4.0, national strategic projects, and Special Economic Zones (SEZ) based on industry and tourism.

"The support of various parties in Expo 2020 Dubai is crucial to ensure that Indonesia can get maximum benefits, especially for the economy. The synergy between government institutions and the private sector will help Indonesia to reach its full potential," he said. (Baheramsyah/SC)
