Jakarta, InfoPublik – All parties are expected to take the responsible for maintaining security stability in the Simultaneous Regional Election 2018.

" We have asked political parties’ success team to tell their partisans not to provoke people. Accept if they are lost. There is a mechanism through the Constitutional Court," said Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, in his written statement on Tuesday (1/30).

The Minister of Home Affairs affirmed that maintaining conducive situation should be performed not only by security apparatus, but all parties.

"The key role to maintaining stability is in the hands of the authorities with good coordination, so the situation is conducive and election can be secured," he said.

Tjahyo Kumolo also said that home affairs ministry also monitors the transportation in the logistics distribution process, especially in areas that may be prone to disasters.

"We should be prepared for bad weather such as rain or storm. TNI is ready, likewise the marine police from the Headquarters are also ready to distribute. Elections supervisory agency (Bawaslu) also has supervision to the level of polling stations," he said.

He expects no significant disruption could hamper the distribution of electoral logistics.

The 2018 simultaneous regional election will be held in 171 regions and voting will take place on 27 June 2018.(Translator: Wilda Stiana)
