Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held a closed meeting related to the signing of cooperation agreements between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia at the residential Palace in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (3/1).

"I am delighted by the visit of Saudi Arabian King to Indonesia," President Joko Widodo said after the welcoming ceremony.

President Joko Widodo and the Working Cabinet ministers welcomed King Salman and his entourage including Saudi Arabia ministers and businessmen at 12:50 p.m. Afterward, they went to the Bogor Palace to attend a welcoming ceremony chaired by the President escorted by the Indonesian Police  and Indonesian Army.

Earlier, the president’s spokesperson Johan Budi explained the purpose of King Salman’s visit is to sign cooperation agreements between the two countries in culture, health, education, combating crime, energy, and tourism sectors.

"A bilateral agreement between both countries will be signed during the meeting,” he added.

In addition, the Indonesia government will confer King Salman Bintang with Adipurna medal to honor him. Later on, the King is scheduled to hold a dialogue meeting with the leaders of Indonesian Islamic Organization and public figures. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
