Jakarta, InfoPublik - As one of the efforts to support the government’s program, particularly related to effort to improve public services accross Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air planned to open a new route serving Surabaya - Jayapura, which will start operating on February24, 2017.
With this additional flight, people especially in West Papua will have more choices. "There will be a direct flight to be available four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays,", Sriwijaya Air senior manager for corporate communications Agus Soedjono said in Jakarta, Monday (13/2).
Agus added that previously, Surabaya – Jayapura route is served with flight via Ujung Pandang or several other cities in West Papua.
The flight will be served by Boeing 737 800 NG fleet which has a capacity of 189 seats, with schedule at 07.00 am (Western Inodonesia Time) from Surabaya, and arrived in Jayapura at 01:20 pm (Eastern Indonesia Time). Meanwhile, planes from Jayapura will take off at 02.05 pm Eastern Indonesia Tiime and arrive in Surabaya at 04.25 pm Western Indonesia Time.
"Mobility and demand for this route is quite high. With this new services, the passenger can travel from Surabaya to Jayapura and vice versa in a matter of few hours. In order to give extra comfort, in this flight we will also provide eat and drink for free to all passengers," Agus added. (Translator:Sugiarti)â â
