Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund Agency (BPDP) has estimated that the Crude palm oil (CPO) export levies or CPO Supporting Funds (CSF) will reach Rp16 trillion by the end of this year.

BPDP president director Bayu Krisnamurthi said the total funds collected last year was Rp13 trillion.

The funds were collected from palm oil producers who export their products to other countries.

"From January to August 2016, BPDP has collected Rp 7.19 trillion” Bayu said at Borobudur Hotel in Jakarta, Monday (10/3).

By the end of 2016, he said, the total funds collected will be Rp.15-16 trillion.

This figure comes from this year’s revenues estimation added by the remaining funds from the previous year and reduced by this year’s expenditures.

He said "Last year BPDP‘s revenues was Rp 13 trillion. If we add that number with this year, minus all the expenses, we still will have Rp.15-16 trillion”.

The fund will be disbursed to rejuvenate (replanting) the palm oil plantations and the target is to reach 1 million ha of people’s plantations.

Unfortunately, verification problems remain hampering the replanting program. Plantation owners who filed for rejuvenation are faced with legal issues concerning ownership.

"Currently, there are only few plantations that can be replanted because of the verification problem," he stated. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
