House Commission X Optimistic that Indonesian Film will be More Advanced

Jakarta, InfoPublik – Indonesian House of Representative Commission X member Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono said he is optimistic that Indonesian film industry will be more advanced. The Democratic Party politician said that the National Film Day on March 30 is the momentum of Indonesian film industry’s revival.
 
Edhi Baskoro, or widely known as Ibas, said that currently there are more Indonesian films produced, with variety of genres.  “I am optimistic that in the future Indonesian film can become king in its own country," he said in Jakarta, Thursday (3/31).
 
The Film Bill working committee member asserted that his fraction gave full support to the Indonesian film industry, so as to increase the quality of Indonesian films.
 
"Democratic fraction supports Indonesian film-makers through legislation and regulation to continue to work in the national film industry. Young and talented Indonesian filmmakers are creative and innovative in producing films which are competitive to foreign films," he said.
 
The youngest child of the Democratic Party Chairman Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono affirmed that the fraction in the House of Representative is open to suggestions and aspirations from the national filmmakers to produce qualified works.
 
According to him, the national film production is increasing from year to year. "Of course, the National Film Day became a momentum for Indonesian film industry to keep moving forward. The improvement of Indonesian film industry is part of the national progress," said the House Democratic  Party fraction Secretary-General. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
