BPPT Urges Local Govts to Accelerate Digital Transformation

Jakarta, InfoPublik - The government and private sector have implemented digital transformation in all of their business processes toward digital business.

"In the government administration, the bureaucracy process  has also undergone digital transformation process," said Hammam Riza, the deputy for information technology, energy, and material of the Indonesian Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), at the sidelines of the EU-ASEAN Chief Information Officer (CIO) Forum in Jakarta on Wednesday (3/2).
 
He pointed out that in the past three years, the Indonesian government has been applying e-procurement system to procure goods and services. “We find out that this system has been applied in almost every sector ranging from the enrollment test of civil servant candidates to performance evaluation. All the bureaucratic process has been done in digital way," he explained.
 
BPPT also encourages all local governments to accelerate their digital transformation. This digital transformation can be used in every government bureaucracy such as in managing finance, public service, and others.
 
EU-ASEAN CIO Forum under the theme: "Building the Digital Platform-Exchanging on ASEAN and EU Best Practices and Fostering toward Enhanced Collaboration” is a forum that brings together CIOs, ICT experts, and policy makers from the ASEAN and EU.
 
The purpose of the forum is to share experiences, challenges, and good practices on the role of the CIOs, in making use of digital platforms and maximizing their use. It is also to encourage and promote ASEAN and ASEAN-EU ICT cooperation opportunities.
 
The forum was attended by participants from various CIO associations in Indonesia and ASEAN member states; IT experts from Europe and South East Asia regions; ICT policy makers, researchers, and engineers; government officials; as well as private and industry sectors practitioners.
