Jakarta, InfoPublik – The Indonesian National Armed Forces’ (TNI) Head of Information Center, Major General Tatang Sulaiman, said that Presidential Instruction Number 9 Year 2015 on Public Information Management—or Government Public Relations—is applied for all ministries and government agencies including the TNI.
According to him, this decree is issued to convey data and information about tasks and functions of the TNI and to disseminate government policies and development programs to the public.
“Moreover, all government institutions are urged to disseminate every policy dan program fast and accurately to the public. Thus, they would know and understand what the government is doing and what the result is,” Major General Sulaiman told 238 participants of the TNI Military Police (POM) Technical Coordinating Meeting in Jakarta on Thursday (2/25).
Currently, he added, TNI’s public communication strategy is aimed to gain public perception, because TNI’s positive image and public support are influenced by perception. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
